Privacy Policy
Effective date: August 18, 2026
Summary
DupeLens does not sell or rent data and does not use data for advertising or cross-company tracking. Photo analysis happens on your device.
Photos access
DupeLens asks for access to your Photos library so it can read photo thumbnails and metadata, detect exact duplicate and similar photo groups, display thumbnails for review, and move photos you confirm to Recently Deleted in Photos.
DupeLens does not upload your photos to a server.
Privacy-focused analytics
DupeLens uses TelemetryDeck and the owner's EventRail service to understand whether scanning, cleanup, and purchase flows work as intended. They receive anonymous installation identifiers, product-interaction and purchase-flow events, coarse count and duration buckets, and limited technical app/device metadata. EventRail salts and hashes its random installation identifier before storage.
DupeLens does not collect or send photo content, thumbnails, filenames, photo identifiers, photo metadata, exact library counts, names, email addresses, Apple account information, StoreKit transaction identifiers, or localized error messages. Analytics are not linked to your identity and are not used for advertising or tracking across apps or websites.
Network use
DupeLens does not operate accounts or store photo content or metadata on an app backend. TelemetryDeck processes anonymous analytics under its privacy terms. EventRail stores only the privacy-minimized event fields described above, retains raw events for 180 days, and does not receive raw photo or StoreKit identifiers.
If your library uses iCloud Photos, Apple's Photos framework may download thumbnails from iCloud when you view items that are not stored locally on your device. DupeLens does not receive or control your iCloud account data.
Deletion
When you confirm a delete action, DupeLens asks Photos to move the selected items to the Recently Deleted album. You can recover those items in Photos until Apple permanently removes them according to Photos' retention behavior.
Children
DupeLens is not directed to children and does not knowingly collect data from children.
