Privacy Policy — Recall

Your decks and card content stay on your device and in your private iCloud account. Recall sends limited, pseudonymous product analytics, but never sells data or uses it for advertising or cross-app tracking.

Overview

Recall ("the App") is a flashcard and spaced repetition learning app for iOS. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

Data We Collect

Data you create

Decks, cards (front/back text), and study progress are stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. This data is synced to your private iCloud account via CloudKit if you are signed into iCloud. We have no access to this data — it is stored in your personal iCloud container and governed by Apple's privacy policy.

Product analytics

Recall uses TelemetryDeck to understand aggregate activation, study, retention, import, and purchase conversion trends.
Analytics signals can include a pseudonymous device identifier, app/device metadata, coarse count ranges, feature interactions, purchase outcomes, and non-content error codes.
Analytics is not linked to your name or account and is not used for advertising or cross-app tracking.
Analytics is processed by TelemetryDeck on its servers. See TelemetryDeck's privacy information for more information.

Data we do NOT collect in analytics

We do not collect your name, email address, or any account information.
We never send deck names, card fronts or backs, tags, search queries, imported file names or contents, or notification times to analytics.
We do not use advertising SDKs or share data for advertising.

Local Notifications

If you enable the daily reminder, the App schedules a local notification on your device. This is processed entirely on-device by iOS — no notification data is sent to any server.

iCloud Sync

Sync is handled entirely by Apple's CloudKit framework using your personal iCloud account. Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest by Apple. We cannot access, view, or retrieve any data stored in your iCloud container.

Children's Privacy

Recall is intended for a general audience. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. The limited analytics described above is pseudonymous, excludes user-created content, and is not used for advertising or tracking.

Changes to This Policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
